We couldn’t wait until Thursday Throwdown to put this up. The video of Jay Card’s pummeling of Harvard’s John Rose has resurfaced via Lacrosse Playground. While lacrosse is a ‘contact sport,’ this was a little much even by our standards.
A Siena Alum commented that the indoor guys are taught to hit hard and finish through with elbows. While we can’t claim whether that’s true or false, we can offer some further evidence:

We don’t claim that Indoor guys are dirty or anything like that. Maybe they just hit harder. It’s tough at those speeds to stay under control. The stakes are high. You want the ball, but there still is no excuse to hit high. Every sport is cracking down on it. Lacrosse should too.
