Hopkins is the story here. Inside Lacrosse billed their win over Virginia as their ‘Signature Win,’ which sure, it is, but Hopkins has never measured itself on regular season victories. They’re nominal in comparison to Memorial Day Weekend.
In other news, Maryland got romped by Carolina. Galasso has been as advertised, though his true test will be when he starts drawing the one after the Bitter Era. The Ivy League is shaping up nicely with Cornell atop the standings, but Yale and Penn are right on their heels. Harvard, Princeton and Dartmouth are weighing the rear…dangerously. Stony Brook is sputtering. They’re kind of a one-trick pony. Hofstra looms large, but their schedule hasn’t been anything to write home about. Since when do they not play Hopkins anymore?
Has anyone noticed Denver sneaking up on people with a crafty 6-2 mark. They’ve ripped off wins against Loyola, SHU and Air Force of late with Hobart, Duke and Ohio State beckoning. The home stretch is starting to take shape.
