Turtles Win!

First Place

Be the best. It’s a simple motto that’s hard to uphold, but that’s the bar the Tenacious Turtle 6th graders strive to exceed. While most children of their age were fiddling with various gifts from Santa all week, the Turtles trekked across the river to play in the Winter Nationals Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Randolph, NJ.

A member of the Long Island Express family, the Tenacious Turtles finished tournament play with an unblemished 3-0 record. They blazed their path to the Championship game where they dominated their competition and grabbed first place.

All the while, the Turtles faced stiff competition as they played up a grade with 7th graders. As a prize they not only received a trophy, but also an opportunity to play during halftime of the Konica Minolta Big City Classic this upcoming spring at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

The day of lacrosse starts with local rivals St. Johns facing off versus Rutgers at 1pm then the always testy match-up between Hopkins and Carolina. To cap off the evening, Duke squares off with ‘Cuse in what should be a competitive game. For further details or tickets please visit www.BigCityClassic.com.
